I cannot bear to watch the video of George Floyd’s murder. It is heartbreaking. It is horrifying and it is far from an isolated incident. What is unique is that it was captured on film, and we are forced to admit the racism, cruelty, abuse of power and oppression that truly exists in this country and in our world.
Masses of people are saying “no more!” Most are saying this peacefully. We are being threatened with a militaristic response designed to silence us. I pray that we will not be silenced. We are seeing our collective shadow in one of its ugliest permutations. How we respond will determine how much longer we will live on a planet filled with cruelty and suffering.
I was recently asked in a radio interview with Monique Chapman to give a 5D perspective on this. I did not do it as well as I would have liked: I was too caught up in the pain and outrage… too caught up in 3D. How do we honor the anger and grief of a tortured and battered humanity, while simultaneously knowing that we can shift our frequency, open our hearts, and uplift ourselves to create a very different collective reality — a reality formed from a spiritually awakened, empowered and compassionate populace who understands that we are all interconnected? When we are violent and cruel to another, we are only hurting ourselves. Hating another no matter what the outer story, is really a projection of our self-hatred. Fearing those who appear different from us reflects fear of our own uniqueness, and illuminates our internal fragmentation.
I believe that George Floyd’s soul agreed to be sacrificed to serve a higher good, to help wake us up and hopefully to propel us into a higher frequency, both individually and collectively. If we are to honor this sacrifice, if we are truly to change our world, we need to not only send prayers, love and compassion to George Floyd’s family, friends, community, and to all those who have been oppressed by the system, we also need to be able to send this to the oppressors and perpetrators of these horrors as well. We need to not only acknowledge the realities and cruelties with which our society has treated people of color, we need to realize that those who act out these cruelties are profoundly damaged souls, disconnected from any loving source, suffering in their own way. Then we need to go one step further: we need to find the hatred and oppression that we carry in our own psyches. We need to hold love and compassion for ourselves while we look within to identify and integrate our own shadow so that it will no longer show up in our outer world.
In the early 1980’s, I was at a spiritual conference where Elizabeth Kubler Ross was a keynote speaker. Kubler Ross had grown up in Switzerland during WWII, helped many holocaust survivors and had visited the death camps after the war. She saw the horrors. She told each of us in the audience, that just like her, we needed to find the Hilter within us. We were all capable of the highest love and lowest cruelty, and it would be by owning this inside ourselves that we could stop this from happening again on our planet.
Our planet is filled with ‘little holocausts’ everywhere. We must let this old world die away. It serves no one. Look within for any part inside yourself that may resist this death, that fears this birth canal into unknown territory. Find the Hitler within yourself and love him into wholeness. Hold yourself and all living creatures in compassion. Speak up, speak out, and stay strong to the vision that New Earth, which is our higher-consciousness-5D-Frequency Planet, is ready to be birthed, and we are ready collectively to midwife in a whole new loving reality for humankind.
